Open access and enabling access for greater impact
An update on developments in open access and how publishers and societies can increase access to knowledge more generally.
As Vice President, Publishing Development, Liz Ferguson is responsible for developing Wiley’s global journal programs, subscription and open access, and leads Wiley’s open access strategy. She also has a strong focus on data sharing policies and workflows that support researchers in archiving their data and making it publicly available. From 2004-2013 Liz was responsible for Blackwell then Wiley’s global program in organismal biology and played a significant role in launching Wiley’s Open Access program. Before then she held Publisher and other editorial positions at various publishing companies. Liz is in her second term on the Board of Directors of Dryad, a member of the External Advisory Board of DataONE and is on the organizing committee of the Conference on Open Access Scholarly Publishing since 2013.
